Australis Velourlips Review and Swatches

Australis Velourlips Matte Lip Cream

These Australis Velourlips Matte Lip Cream are not new on the shelf but I have recently re-discovered them. Every time I wear these I am so surprised at how long they last on the lips. They completely dry so there is very minimal transfer or smudging, which is great for me as I am so bad at getting lipstick EVERYWHERE. Honestly you would think I was a child with Mum’s lipstick, I get it on my face, my clothes, everywhere.

The only time I see a small amount of transfer is, not surprisingly, when eating and drinking. However this is normally only the small amount that is sitting on the inner of your lips, not the lips themselves.

The next best thing about these lip creams is the pigmentation, it is amazing. These colours are bright and make a gorgeous statement on the lips. You don’t need to work very hard to create a full coverage and bold effect. Which I like, less room for error/mess!

Australis Velourlips Swatches

Australis Velourlips Matte Lip Cream Swatch

Mi-a-mee has been my favourite of late, even though it is going into winter here, I still love a bright summery lip colour. Lun-Dun and Rio-D make for a wicked bright ombre lip effect! You can see in these swatches just how pigmented they are.

There are 15 Velourlips Matte Cream colours in total and I have to say I do want more.

Australis Velourlips Shades

Australis Velourlips Matte Lip CreamThe main downfall of this product is, you have to apply it quickly as it gets patchy and flaky if you take too long and it starts to dry. This can also happen if you re-apply the product too often as the product builds up on the lips.

Tip: apply a moisturising lip balm before re-applying the Verlourlips Lip Cream. It re-moisturisers what is on the lips and allows the next coat to blend in easer.

I think I would like to try the Hon-o-loo-loo next! Have you tried the Velourlips? What colour do you recommend?

With love,
Alisha Barbara xx

I hear you with the flakiness. I wore it out to a work event and didn’t realise it would do it, so I put on about 4 coats to built up the colour. It was so embarassing having to wipe off chunks of lip colour from my lips while talking to people. Ughhh. Will definitely give it another go in a lower pressure setting and with only one coat! Haha.

I’m with Katie. I hate the flakiness too. That’s what put me off them ages ago. I haven’t had the guts to try them out again. Should do though. They’ve come out with beautiful colors. Nice post girl xx
