Enjoy The Little Things

Enjoy the little things friends

hope you allΒ having a great week. Today I have ‘Enjoy The Little Thing’ the second instalment of my anxiety tip series. I know that I find writing these posts helpful so I really hope you get something from them too! It helps to know we’re not alone. πŸ™‚

Enjoy The Little Things

I never thought I would say I am thankful for having anxiety, but it does have a plus side. It makes me really appreciate the small pleasures in life.

It makes you take a step back and realise what is truely important. If you’re struggling with anxiety take notice of your surroundings. The everyday things that make you smile.

Take time to notice the little things that give you joy, even for a moment. Is it your jumper keeping you warm? That peppermint tea that tastes so good? That friends comment that makes you laugh?

I have found that focusing on these things make you realise not every is bad. There is still good and it will be okay. I took the time to photograph some of the little things I noticed were good for me this past week.

Talking with my best friend! Even though she is in the UK we still take time to hang out through FaceTime, even if we are getting ready or doing something we just chat like we are in the same room! I love it! πŸ‘

This sign in town made me laugh! I had to take a photo to share with you guys. Although this was taken a few weeks ago there was another funny one there this week!

All of these are little things that could be easily over looked but when you take time to really notice them, they can put a smile on your face.

So, I challenge you to take notice of something little that makes you smile. Whether you suffer from anxiety or not I would love for you to comment bellow with what that one little thing is! Or you can tweet, instagram or facebook me. I would love to see what awesome little things are happening in your life.

Don’t forget to just the hashtag #AnxietyHelpingHand and #WeAreStrongerTogether.

With love,
Alisha Barbara xx

I love this! Have you heard of The Happiness Experiment, where you list three good things every day? I did that for a year and found that it helped me to change my (very negative) attitude into one more positive and appreciate the things I had.

As I am currently battling with depression I have also been trying to appreciate the little things. I record them in a weekly diary (as well as the bad things), to show that most of the time the good outweigh the bad and that I’m progressing to a point of more good days than bad. Some great little things this week have included waking up feeling refreshed and a hot cup of tea on a cold day.

I am currently trying to fight depression so it’s reassuring to hear about others experiences with anxiety and depression. A focus on the little things can really help particularly when you are feeling overwhelmed by the big picture. I love my pets, morning (and sometimes afternoon coffee), and writing my blog. Thanks for this post x
