It’s June makeup favourites time! I hope you’re keeping warm in this crazy cold weather. I am snuggled on the couch with a hot chocolate writing this, I would love you to read this with a hot drink snuggled and warm also!
Some how I manged to miss doing a May makeup favourites post, one day lead to another aaaaand it’s July! WHAT, how did that happen? So this is a mix of beauty products I have been loving over the past TWO months!
June Makeup Favourites:
First up is the Maybelline Pore Eraser Primer which you can get from Farmers for $16.99 it took me a while try this out. I heard so much hype around it, the skeptical side of me came out. I was pleasantly surprised though, the silicone formula gives a silky feel to your skin which makes foundation really easy to apply. While it doesn’t ‘erase’ the pores on my nose it does make them less visible. It also makes my foundation last a lot longer during the day which is kinda the point of a primer, so that is a plus!
NEXT is the L’Oreal True Match Concealer also from Farmers for $30.99 I won’t say much about this as I have had it in a favourites before but I just ‘re-discovered’ it. Three points can sum up this concealer 1. Brilliant coverage 2. Easily blendable 3. Non drying. This is in their shade 2 Vanilla which has the perfect yellow undertone for my skin!
This next product is like a revolutionary product for me, the L’Oreal Nude Magique Eau De Teint from Farmers (shock horror) for $32.99. It has all the benefits of a foundation but is so light weight it barely feels like you’re wearing anything on your skin. I know that likely sounds like something straight off an infomercial but it truly blew me away. It has a medium coverage perfect for everyday wear, it is easy to blend and you only need a small amount of the product. The only down fall of it for me is the slightly oily formula, I really need to be on top of my blotting game when wearing this foundation as not to look like a grease money! I’m thinking I will do a full review of this product in the near future…
I am noticing a L’Oreal theme here, I think I got these on offer for 2 for 3 or something awesome like that. This is L’Oreals Le Blush in Sandalwood Pink from Farmers for $30.49. The first thing I noticed when I opened it was the delicious smell! I can’t put my finger on what it is but it’s clearly scented and smells great, like lollies I think… This is a perfect natural pink shade that has a slight sheen to it which gives your cheeks a really healthy looking glow. It is not the most pigmented blush I have ever used but you can build it up and blend it out nicely!
Staying with the glowing cheeks theme is the E.L.F Gotta Glow highlight from iHerb for $4.40, it is such great value for money! It gives a gorgeous golden sun kissed look without being over the top! You can also pick these up in Kmart for around $10!
For brows I love been OBSESSED with the Napoleon Browtox from Napoleon in Farmers Wellington for $39. Can you tell there is limited options for buying makeup in New Zealand? I picked this up at the end of last year and I couldn’t for the life of me get the hang of it. So it went in the draw and I went back to my brow powders, UNTIL one day I tried it again with a thicker brush and my goodness I love it! I find it really easy to blend from light to dark and create shape. The only flaw is you have to work fast as it drys quickly!
For my eyes I have found myself reaching for this NYX Eyeshadow in True Taupe from Crush Cosmetics. This is a perfect taupe colour that is perfect for deepening up the crease of your eyelid. Again with this product the pigmentation isn’t the best but it builds up with a bit of work and blends really easy.
Last but not lest is the Trilogy Vitial Moisturising Cream I got this in the Beauty Review Beauty Box but by the looks of it you can get it from Farmers for $49. As I have mentioned I have oily skin, I found this moisturiser helped balance out my skin which is awesome, it is light weight and sinks easily into the skin. The orange flower element makes this smell divine! It is a little on the pricey side which would make me try another cheaper alternative first but if they don’t stack up I’ll be repurchasing!
I’ll wrap this up quickly as I feel I have been rambling for ages! I have filmed a makeup tutorial using these June makeup favourites so you can see them used on the skin so make sure you’ve subscribed to my YouTube channel to check that out soon!
I would love to know in the comments what you have been loving this month!
If you made it to the end of this HIGH FIVE!
