Oasis Beauty Sun SPF30+ Review

Oasis Beauty Sun SPF 30 New Zealand

Not sure the difference between UVA and UVB? Let me tell you! It is starting to heat up, spring is in the air and the sun is starting to come out and bite. Yes bite! For those who don’t know, New Zealand’s sun is very harsh and you can be burnt to a crisp in minutes. So, it is very important to have a SPF cream with UVA and UVB protection close by to protect yourself from the suns harmful rays.

Oasis Beauty Sun UVA and UVA Protection

One of the main things I love about this sunscreen is it has UVA and UVB protection. Not all sunscreens have that. There is a lot of scientific information around the difference between UVA and UVB protection, but I will make this short and sweet.

UVA (ultraviolet A) sun rays penetrate deep into the skin and cause sun damage that AGES the skin. UVB (ultraviolet B) are the sun rays that BURN the skin. Protection against UVB is the more common of the two, as it stops sunburn. It is often assumed that sunburn alone is what damages the skin and can course ‘aging’ of the skin. This is not actually the case.
You can be protected from UVB (burning) but not be protected from UVA (aging) without really knowing.

It is often hard to find sunscreen for the face that has UVA and UVB protection, without paying an arm and a leg! Just because a skin cream or foundation says it has an spf of xyz in it, it doesn’t mean it is going to protect your skin against burning and aging like you might hope it will.

That is a HUGE PLUS with the Oasis Beauty Sun cream as it has protection against both as well as being suitable for face and body!

I started using Oasis Beauty Sun sunscreen last summer. The first thing I noticed about this product is it promises a lot, from the get-go and I had high expectations. It did not disappoint.

Oasis Beauty Sun SPF30+ On The Skin

Last summer I mixed equal parts of this sunscreen with my morning serum and let that soak into my skin for a few minutes before applying my makeup. I will admit, I was concerned that because I have oily skin my makeup would slide around and my skin would be oilier than normal. I did not notice any difference in my skin throughout the day and my makeup wore as normal.

I also have sensitive skin, particularly on my face. I did not notice any irritation on my body. There was a slight irritation on my face, however it went away quickly and did not cause any noticeable redness or lasting affect.

You only need small amount of this product as it goes a long way.  It is easy to rub in to your skin and is so deliciously moisturising, I have been using it on my legs in the morning to give them a moisture boost. I find it is slightly whitening but this is me being very nitpicky.

There was no white mark transfer on my clothing, which is awesome. It is not too heavy or thick. You can feel that you have something on your skin, however, it was not greasy or slippery in any way.

Price and Sizes:

Travel Size 50ml $17.50 NZD

Family Size 250ml $39.90 NZD

NEW Jumbo Size 500ml $74.90 NZD

You can find the Oasis Beauty Sun SPF 30 on the Oasis Beauty website or find a retailer near you here.

I really enjoy using this product and will be using it again this summer! I love that it is also cruelty free and made in New Zealand. Over all I highly recommend this product. Have you tried any Oasis Beauty products before? I would love to know your thoughts below!

With love,

I used this for the first time yesterday! I was surprised how nice it felt on my face, most are so gross on the skin. I just have to nit pick, and that’s that all sunscreens are tested at the same coverage and it’s actually more than you’d expect, about 1/4 teaspoon for the face and around a shotglass worth for a body (30ml).

I’ve just started using this too – love that it comes in the three sizes, so useful.

This is such a great review! I can’t wait to try this sunscreen x

I’ve been eyeing up the Oasis sunscreen for ages! I use their day cream with SPF in it at the moment, but I need to grab a bottle of proper sunscreen for when I’m actually out in it. Great post!

I’ve seen a few people post about this product which got me curious. It does sound great and I’m keen to try it. By the looks of it, it’s well-priced too.
