Trilogy Very Gentle Skincare Review

Trilogy Very Gentle Skincare

The weather has been so awesome lately, it has taken me a lot longer than anticipated to get this post up! This winter has seemed so long and drawn out this year. I wanted to share the skincare that I have been using over the last few winter months that have really helped keep my skin feeling fresh and hydrated! That is the Trilogy Very Gentle skincare range!

I have been using these three products as my staple morning and night skincare routine. Late last year my fiancé and I brought a house with a wood fire place in it. I haven’t lived in a house with a fire place since I was a little kid. The dryness of using a fire to heat the house starting causing havoc on my skin! Suddenly my usually oily skin was very dry and irritated. I also have sensitive skin to random products so I didn’t want anything to heavy or harsh on my skin.

Trilogy Very Gentle Skincare Range

Trilogy Very Gentle Cleansing Cream

The Trilogy Very Gentle Cleansing Cream is delicious on the skin! I am a huge cream cleanser fan. I find they are great for oily skin as they don’t draw out too much oil. Which can then cause your skin to produce MORE oil – not ideal!

There is very little scent to this cleanser as it is fragrance free. Using camellia oil and fatty acids such as omega 6 and 9 this product helps to soothe and protect the weakened skin barrier and care for easily irritated skin. This cleanser has been . . . very gentle, on my skin. Removing dirt and oil, leaving my skin clean yet hydrated.

This cleanser also states it will remove eye makeup. While it did remove a large amount of product, it didn’t remove all of it to my liking. I normally use a makeup remover though, so that doesn’t bother me.

To use this product I remove my makeup. Wet my face with warm water and spread a small amount between my hands then gently rub it into my skin for 1 to 2 minutes. Then I remove all the product with a warm wet face cloth.

Trilogy Very Gentle Calming Serum

Next is the Trilogy Very Gentle Calming Serum. It look me a while to warm up to this product and I will tell you why. I was initially confused as to why a natural product would leave my skin felling tight. There is nothing drying or harsh in the product so I couldn’t understand it.

Until I had a closer read at the ingredients and realised it had Aloe Vera in it. Aloe Vera is a commonly used calming ingredient but can have a tightening feeling. After reading this I wasn’t concerned about the tightness as I knew why it was happening. So if you experience this too, that will be why!

I am very generious with this product using two pumps all over my face (obviously) and down my neck. It is very important to remember to moisturise your neck as well as your face. Your neck sees a lot of sun light just like your face so it needs a little helping hand. Think of it as future proofing your neck ;P

For some reason the natural smell of this product reminds me of the beach. Not in a heavy sunblock kind of way but more a fresh air/ clean kind of way . . . maybe I am just weird! (this is quite likely) I use this morning and night after cleansing and a few minutes before moisturising.

Trilogy Very Gentle Moisturising Cream

Last but not lest is my personal favourite, the Trilogy Very Gentle Moisturising Cream. I use a small amount of this product morning and night on my face and neck. This is quite a thick moisturiser which has been AMAZING during winter to re-hydrate and balance my skin! I am yet to see how it will go in summer when it heats up though.

What I love most about this product is it instantly makes my skin feel soothed and hydrated which is exactly what it promises to do. I am not 100% sold on the scent of it, that is the only ‘nitpicky’ thing.  It is not a strong over powering scent or not even a ‘bad’ scent. It is just very specific and I am not sure about it. It is not enough to stop me from using or even re-purchasing this product, it is just something I have noticed.

Over all I love this skincare range! It does exactly what it says it will. Trilogy is a natural range, made in New Zealand and does not test on animals. You can purchase Trilogy products on their website, in Farmers and selected pharmacies.

Have you used any Trilogy products before? I would love to know what you thought of them! If you got to the end of this post *HIGH FIVE!

Thank you for reading!

With love,
Alisha xxx

Sounds like a nice range seems like the cleanser would be a really nice light one to use in the mornings 🙂 I’ve not tried Trilogy, but I keep hearing great things about them.

I do! It’s gentle but effective, and when I follow with the rosehip my skin is in heaven. Have gone through so many bottles of it.

The very gentle calming serum is something that sounds amazing before bed! I use the gentle facial exfolient and looooove it! xx

I love your photos! So clever!
I’ve used a moisturiser from Trilogy before, but it made me very greasy so I gave it to a friend. I do like their face mask though, it really clears out my pores but is quite gentle.

I love the Trilogy Rosehip oil and I’ve just finished my second bottle of it. The only other one I’ve tried from Trilogy is their Vital Moisturising Cream. I liked it because it was moisturising and did the job but I wasn’t too fond of the scent. Your products above sounds really good though!

I have used the very gentle range. I haven’t used the serum though. I found the moisturiser made my skin very oily, but other than I liked the rest of the products. You have to try their hydrating mist. I am obsessed and go through a bottle a month. It has a really nice scent and is very refreshing and I feel it wakes my skin up.

At the moment I’m using Evolu recovery overnight cream which I am pretty happy with and I use their daytime moisturiser which has an SPF in it during the day. I find they both absorb really well 🙂
